a heart that's full up like a landfill

Well I am back in Utah. I flew back in last Thursday and so far it's been nice. I am staying with my friends Mike and Kathy and they are amazing. They have done so much to make me feel comfortable and are really supportive. It's awesome.

I've been on Criagslist and the like to try and find some work but so far there isn't much. I hope I can get a job and some money so I can be more independent and start working towards my goals. I know it has only been 4 days but I am still a bit stressed.

Time to work on the things I can while I look for work! This was just a quick update seeing as not much has happened. Hopefully there will be more to post in the coming weeks. Until then!

i'm not living, i'm just killing time.

Hey everyone (or no one depending on who still reads this). It's been a while, just over 4 years. A lot has happened and not much has changed during this time. I've been going to school on and off and working jobs on and off, nothing has been permanent. I haven't been back to Japan since I went 4 years ago though it is still my goal to live there if only for a little while, but as of now it is a bit far off.

Right now I am out near San Fransisco staying at my sister and brother-in-law's place looking for work. It's been hard finding something though. But I think being out here has given me some perspective on my life and what I want to do. I'm going to try to head back to school and finish my degree. I struggled for a long time trying to figure out what I wanted to do for a career, but I have come to the conclusion that I am just going to get a degree in something I love and have a huge interest in and let the career find me. So I am hoping to start a Japanese language degree sometime in the near future.

Anyhow, I thought I would throw some of the things I've been going over in my head lately on here.  I've been thinking about starting this blog back up for a while, it would be nice to keep it updated regularly. So yeah. I guess until next time! Here's to hoping it won't be another 4 years before a post!

...Another Place and Time.

ひさしぶりですね。 It's been awhile. I doubt many people read this, but for those of you who do and are wondering what has happened since my last post, the short answer is: A lot. For a more lengthy and detailed answer please refer to Ben's Blog for the Japan portion of what has happened.

As for after getting back to Utah, not much has happened. I have been back for about 2 months now and still have yet to find a job. Though, to be fair, I haven't been looking all that hard. That is about to change though as I am running low on funds and if I plan to attend school this Fall I will need more than I have now. I am thinking about getting a degree in Journalism, but that is tentative at best. All I really know for sure is I want to go back to Japan and live for awhile. I miss it.

I need to get out more. In Tokyo I would go out almost everyday to see something or meet someone. Since I've been back I haven't done much of either.

So I will try to keep this up to date more often. Hopefully with more exciting content. Until then...

In Japan!

Hey everyone! Well I made it to Japan. If you want all the nitty gritty details on how we got here you can read Ben's blog. As for now I'm pretty tired so I'll post more details later. Oh, and there are photos of our apartment on Ben's blog as well. So until I get some sleep that's it for now.

Visa is a go!

This post is a little late. Sorry about that. Good news though! I got my Working Holiday visa! So it's done. Everything is in place. It was a surprisingly easy process. The whole thing only took a week after turning in all the paper work. So now all that is left is to go to Japan and find a job. :/ I'll be sure to keep you all up to date on how that goes. So until then, let me know if you have any questions or comments and I'll post again when I am leaving. Cheers.

It's official!

Well, I bought my ticket to Japan! I'm really going now. It's a bit hard to believe that I am. I'll be leaving Wednesday March 26th. Now all that's left to do is go down to the Japanese consulate and turn in all my paperwork and wait for my visa. So I'll probably head down there in the next few days. Keep all your fingers crossed so it all goes well! I'll update when I know more. Later.
